Amplify and LEGO set out to reimagine Boston as a city "built for play,” with zones that felt instantly LEGO, while still functioning safely in a busy public setting. The build needed to withstand all-day traffic, unpredictable weather, and an enthusiastic crowd. Working closely with Amplify, Pink Sparrow fabricated overscaled LEGO-inspired forms, custom scenic builds, and integrated play stations, engineered for efficient load-in, smooth operation by guests, and quick strike on The Greenway and surrounding areas.
Guests stepped into a playful micro-city where they could shoot hoops on a LEGO-inspired block, experiment with sound in an interactive beatbox square, and explore a ship dock filled with creature-filled moments—all designed for open-ended play. World Play Day Boston served as a live demonstration of how imaginative fabrication can transform everyday city spaces into playgrounds for creativity. With Amplify’s creative leadership and Pink Sparrow’s design-led fabrication, LEGO fans of all ages experienced a one-day takeover that felt as thoughtfully constructed as the builds it inspired.
