Marantz 70th Anniversary
Marantz 70th Anniversary

Engineering-focused audio equipment company Marantz looked to Pink Sparrow to design and build an experience for their 70th anniversary that reflects the company’s ethos — to create the world’s most luxurious sound. Marantz was looking to disrupt the typical “Listening Room” demo, so the Pink Sparrow team worked closely with Marantz’s top engineers to create an acoustically perfect room with a materially rich, minimalist aesthetic inside of Spring Studios’ polished concrete spaces. Drawing from the brand’s deep teal color palette, the team designed a room optimized for hi-fi listening without a single piece of visible sound equipment and enhanced by programmed custom light fixtures.

In addition, the multi-day event featured a series of micro-activations organized around a centripetal scheme — an ode to the brand equipment’s signature circular knobs. Along with a cafe, shoppable record store, and listening stations, the heart of the event was a circular museum that guided guests through 70 years of Marantz innovation. The Marantz museum terminated into a large curved screen wall that featured a brand film. An accompanying custom stage featured the likes of Max Richter and a slate of other speakers. The team collaborated with Spring Studios as both production partners and venue, along with their suite of AV, sound, and lighting vendors.
